Deidre Ledford - AmeriCorps Member, Nutrition Education Coordinator

Deidre has been the Nutrition Education Coordinator at Project MANA since August 2011!  She was born and raised in the small town of Franklin, North Carolina.  Deidre received her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008 and went on to obtain her Masters in Environmental Management from Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment in 2011.  While at Duke, her master's project focused on implementing farm to school programs to promote the economic revitalization of an impoverished region of North Carolina.  She realized that her passion was in working to provide food insecure community members with greater access to fresher, whole foods--work that she continues to do today with Project MANA. Deidre and her dog, Chewy, happily reside in Kings Beach, CA.
