Project MANA (Making Adequate Nutrition Accessible) is the hunger relief organization serving the North and West Shores of Lake Tahoe and Truckee, which includes the coverage of three counties in Northern California and one county in Northern Nevada. Since its inception in July of 1991, Project MANA has responded to the emergency food need of the homeless, the elderly, the homebound, families in need, children and single parents.

The Programs of Project MANA
[0]Emergency Food Relief -- Weekly food distribution in Tahoe City, Truckee, Kings Beach and Incline Village (Soda Springs-Seasonally)- Food Express -- Food rescue program in collaboration with local supermarkets and retail vendors
- FACE (Food And Companionship Exchange) -- We recruit community volunteers to shop for, deliver groceries to, and assist with other living necessities for our "homebound" clients
- Senior Nutrition -- We work to understand and support the nutrition needs of seniors. Senior Nutrition Questionnaire.
- Nutrition Education -- Project MANA works in collaboration with local elementary schools to supplement existing health curriculums with hands-on nutritional activities
- Fuel For The Holidays -- Provides lunch during the holidays for students enrolled in the federal assisted school lunch program
[0]Kids Can Cook -- This program teaches "latch key" kids about safety, sanitation, and nutrition in the kitchen - Dar a Luz -- Provides "learning for life" courses in budgeting, smart shopping, and nutrition, targeting Hispanic women in the community
- Community Gardens -- Three established community gardens in Kings Beach, Incline Village and Truckee that demonstrate the nutritional and economic value of having a garden
