On the Saturday before Thanksgiving, Project MANA helps hundreds of local families have a happy, healthy Thanksgiving through its annual Let’s Talk Turkey Food Distribution. With the help of dozens of social service agencies, schools and churches throughout North Lake Tahoe and Truckee, Project MANA works to identify as many community members as possible who need assistance with providing a hearty Thanksgiving meal for their families.

In 2011, nearly 700 local families received turkeys through Project MANA’s Let’s Talk Turkey Food Distribution. This year, given the continued economic downturn, Project MANA expects to serve that many families, if not more.  Thanks to generous donations from the community, each community member who signs up and attends the distribution will be able to bring home a whole turkey, fresh produce and other fixings for a holiday meal.
