Project MANA is pleased to announce that Deidre Ledford has been named as Executive Director.
Originally from a small town nestled deep in the Appalachian Mountains, Deidre received her BS from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Master in Environmental Management from Duke University. In 2011, Deidre moved to Lake Tahoe and began working for Project MANA as an AmeriCorps member through the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation AmeriCorps Program. Prior to transitioning into the role of Executive Director, Deidre served in four additional staff roles within Project MANA and has come to know the organization inside and out. Deidre has a deep passion to serve the community in which she lives and is dedicated to empowering the food insecure to escape from hunger and poverty.
Project MANA has also named Julie Malkin-Manning as Development Director. Born and raised in metro Detroit, Julie’s entire career, 15 years with the automotive industry, has been spent designing and implementing innovative campaigns and events that educate, connect, motivate, inspire and influence the way people think and act. Since moving Lake Tahoe in 2008, Julie has been marketing, fundraising and managing special events for profit and nonprofit organizations in the Reno-Tahoe area, including JDRF and The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival.

TIP: Before you begin the registration process please have a photo ready to upload to your fundraising page. The site will not let you move forward with the registration process without a photo.
Go to www.projectmana.org to access the Fight Hunger Fast link to start fundraising or click here.
A registration “wizard” will walk you through the registration steps
Click on the big green START FUNDRAISING NOW button to begin
Select one of two ways to create a fundraising account
Tell your story (this information will become part of your fundraiser page and Project MANA has provided copy for this page, you do not have to modify it unless you desire)
Choose your fundraising goal
TIP: Keep your fundraising goal low and attainable at first.As you come close to, or beat your goal, raise it!
Submit for Review
When you have completed the registration wizard, hit the “Submit for Review” button located at the bottom of the page. Your page will be quickly reviewed and approved by Project MANA.
You will receive a confirmation email, it will contain a link to your fundraising page.
TIP: KEEP THE EMAIL AND THE LINK IN A SPOT YOU CAN ACCESS IT AGAIN LATER.
You will use it to gain access to your personal page and also to share your page directly with your peer network.

You are ready to begin fundraising and should begin to ask your friends, family, co-workers to join you in your FIGHT HUNGER FAST by financially supporting your fast.
Now that you’ve created your page, you can share it with family and friends, as well as access templates for asking donors to contribute to your campaign and thanking them after they do. To access these templates, follow these instructions:
